Within the Rules Published by Coriander Studio in 2010
It's 'Within the Rules' was the constant bleat of politicians as their money grabbing behaviour was exposed in the press. The print contains an A to Z of alliterative phrases that reflect the attitudes and practices of the 'Great and the Good' while the glazed over-print contains their whined explanation that "We didn't do anything wrong". The colours are those of the three main parties while the form (reminiscent of thirties tickertape) represents the further disintegration of our democracy by politicians whose sometimes naïve, or more often criminal activities destroy our faith in our leaders. Within the Rules is a signed limited edition comprising 50 digital prints each finished with a silk-screen printed satin protection varnish and an Ultra Violet glaze on the phrase We Didn't Do Anything Wrong. The image was generated on computer using Adobe Illustrator and proofed and editioned on an Epson 9900 using Epson archival inks on Somerset Satin 335gsm Enhanced paper. It is a first generation original print, which only exists in this form. |
