"Scratch an Actor and you'll find an Actress". Dorothy Parker 1928 The Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow could all be desceribed as mataphores for aspects of the artistic temprement. The Yellow Brick Road as seen in the 1939 musical fantasy The Wizard of Oz may lead similarly to the Oscar and the pinicle of success it is said to represent. This digital print conprises two entwined spirals of stills that have won for their stars, best actor and best actress awards. The white numbers refer to the years the award was presented since its inception in 1929. The Oscar figurine is a three dimensional wooden laser cut model that has been coated with gold leaf and stuvck on the Yellow Brick centre of the canves. |
