George Melies attributed his idea for the first ever science fiction movie 'A Trip to the Moon', to the Jules Verne of novel of 1864, From the Earth to the Moon. The iconographic still of the moon with a cannon shell in its eye is the centre piece of this print from the Cinema Suite, The stars that surround it reflect the different genres of science fiction from, time travel, fantacy horror, alien invasion to comedy and wierd science e.g. The fly, Robocop, 1984 and Mars Attacks. The border text comprises an Alphabet of well known science fiction films and the mono-chrome stills are diamond dusted. |
