I really liked the title ‘Thanks for the angst’, which I first used in 2008 for a print reflecting my usual rant about banks, hedge-funds and government sleaze. Sadly, nothing seems to have changed except the rich have got richer and the working poor are having to feed themselves from food banks. It took a caring footballer to engender a modicum of moral direction in our government and encourage it to provide sustenance to some of our poorest children. We seem to feel it appropriate that knighthoods and honours should be awarded to those who rape pension funds and donate largess to political parties, while squandering our taxes by handing out vast sums, in the form of spurious contracts to friends, relatives and hedge-funds, while simultaneously paying lip service to the tax avoidance schemes of many multinationals.
