Tired of Life Published by CCA Galleries in 2012
Tired of life – refers to Dr Johnson's quotation that – "When a man is tired of London, he's tired of life ". This print is simply an A to Z of some of the famous and infamous characters that have lived in London and have been responsible for creating its cultural ambience. The images vary from pieces of sculpture, sections of famous paintings such as Hogarth's ‘The Rakes Progress' to architectural and iconic photographs of familiar if somewhat obscure objects and places, a cricket ball at Lords cricket ground, an early postcard of lions at London Zoo, Sickert's painting of a murdered prostitute in Camden and an own brand of Harrod's Pot Noodle. Tired of life is a signed limited edition comprising 50 digital prints finished with a silk-screen printed satin protection varnish, an Ultra Violet glaze on the circular images.. It is a first generation original print, which only exists in this form. |
