Summertime Hues 1 Published by Christies Contemporary Art 1982
The title ‘Summertime Hues’ (from Eddie Cochran’s Summertime Blues) is a slightly oblique homage to my great friend Patrick Hughes and his penchant, at that time, for the rainbow as an image. The print is from a series of limited editions commissioned by Christies Contemporary Art that used the ‘Four Seasons’ as their point of departure. All four are signed limited editions, but ‘Summertime hues’ is printed in two different colour versions each comprising 50 serigraphs printed on 310 Velin Arches paper using an average of 16 colours and a glaze. All the stencils were hand painted by the artist. The prints were proofed and printed at Coriander Studio London. |
